Fun Science Show and hands-on activity in Rahat-e-Islamia GOVT School

An exciting, engaging and worth learning fun science demonstration and hands-on activity was conducted on 9th of March, Thursday by Pakistan Science Club in collaboration with Alif Ailaan as a part of  Math’s and Science campaign in Rahat-e-Islamia government School  adopted by The Dawood Foundation (TDF).

Kids are making a cardboard helicopter  Rahat-e-Islamia GOVT School

More than 200 students from grade 3rd to 5th along with teachers attended the activity which comprises of two parts i.e. fun science show and Simple helicopter hand-on project making activity. The event comprises of three hours activities, science show started at 11:30 am and was carried out for an hour. It involved the students in a very energetic and enthusiastic manner and addressed the fundamental concepts of science such as pressure difference, vacuum effect, breakage of polymer layer due to reaction of acid, center of gravity, chemical reactions etc. The activities engaged students in a very interesting way; actively participated in all, asked questions and also tried to accept the challenges as well.

The students in the group of 5 also made Simple Helicopter out of cardboard as hands-on project which lasts for an hour as well. The project enabled the students to decipher basic aerodynamics and flying of a helicopter.  Students with great eagerness and zeal participated in the activity and it was a captivating and inspiring experience for them that made them to understand about the basic science in a compulsive way.

Political Advocacy and Communications Manager Maliha Umer, Sikandar Bizenjo, Regional campaign organizer and Abbas Sethna from Alif Ailaan, Creative coordinator Miss Nasreen Hassan from Dawood Public School, HR and Program Executive Muhammad Khan from The Dawood Foundation, Principal Rahat-e-Islamia School Miss Bilquees and many other teachers of the school also attended the event’s
